Rafay Mussarat Foundation

Here at MCR Property Group, we recognise the importance of helping out where we can. Whether it be encouraging our employees on their own charitable endeavours e.g. marathons or hosting our own events e.g. bake sales and fundraisers. We take pride in ourselves in trying to make a difference by placing philanthropy at the heart of our company culture.

Our CEO, Aneel Mussarat founded the Rafay Mussarat Foundation in 2017 with a mission to tackle homelessness and provide vital healthcare and education to those trapped by poverty. The foundation works both in the UK and internationally. The foundation aspires to build homeless shelters across the UK and to build free to use hospitals in Pakistan throughout Punjab.

Hospitals In Pakistan

In Pakistan, the foundation has recently pledged to develop nine free-to-use hospitals in Pakistan. The first of these hospitals is expected to welcome patients in 2023 with the other eight due to be completed over the nex decade. These hospitals are in addition to the free eye and general hospital the foundation already runs in Pakistan. It is estimated that
up to 10m people will benefit from these vital new facilities.

Homeless Shelters In Manchester

The foundation began a £2 million programme of building homeless shel ers in 2021. The aim is to deliver 1,000 places for homeless people by 2022, the aim being to combat drug and alcohol dependency and to reintegrate those who use the shel ers back into mainstream society.

Rohingya Aid

Aneel and the foundation visited Myanmar to see first-hand the plight of the Rohingya people and the overwhelming challenges they face every day. Their time on the ground was humbling and highlighted the sheer level of suppor that is required to help restore humanity there. The foundation will fur her expand on what they have already achieved in Myanmar, providing international relief throughout the world to communities in need.

“On our recent visit to Myanmar, we were deeply shocked and saddened to witness the terrible conditions faced by the Rohingya people who have been displaced,” explains Aneel. “The situation is deplorable, with many left destitute and segregated from a country that now classes them as illegal immigrants from neighbouring Bangladesh.

“While there, we were given the oppor unity to help the Bangladesh army distribute food to some 17,000 people and, though the crisis was horrific to witness, we feel blessed to have been able to help. As such, we hope our recently launched charity, the Rafay Mussarat Foundation, will go some way to of ering the long-term support that’s needed to help restore peace for the Rohingya people.”

Food Packages in Pakistan

Between 2019 and 2021, the Foundation distributed over 30,000 food packages to Pakistan’s poor — each designed to feed a family of five for a month.
